Parachute Activities Degree Game
As in the game, ”Degrees”, place the degree disc in the centre of the parachute with one child standing in the middle holding the ribbons. Two other children stand on the edge of the parachute each holding the other end of one of the ribbons. All the other children sit anywhere on the parachute. Once they have settled down, they are not to move at all. A number of cards have been prepared, each one has two numbers on it, like 0-90; 90-270;270-360; 180-360, or any other combination. The cards could be more difficult and include degrees like 45º, 135º, 225º, 315º or even all the ten degrees like 10º,20º,30º,40º,50º,60º, and so on. A card is selected by the teacher, or by a chosen child, who reads out the numbers on it. One of the ribbon holders walks to the higher number, and the other ribbon holder walks to the lower number. They always walk round in a clockwise direction. Any child who has any part of their body within the angle formed by the two ribbons leaves the parachute and sits on the edge. A different card is chosen, and so on until only one child is still sitting within the parachute, and is declared the winner.
