The children sit around the edge of the parachute with their legs under the material.

A rat is chosen and he / she walks around the outside of the circle and taps a rat catcher on the shoulder. The rat then runs around the circle with the chosen rat catcher chasing.

The rat has to run right around the circle back to where the rat catcher was sitting and pop under the parachute and stand up in the centre. The rat catcher tries to stop the rat reaching the centre.

The other children must allow the rat to enter under the parachute and must watch their feet.

To make it easier and safer the finishing line could be reaching the rat catcher's seat.
