The teacher prepares a large number of shapes, having three examples of each shape. Two examples of each shape are placed under the parachute and the teacher keeps the other copy of each shape.

The children hold the parachute and mushroom it. The teacher names two children and holds up one shape.

The two children named dive under the parachute and search for the two shapes which match the one that the teacher is holding. When they find them they hold them up through the hole in the middle of the parachute or if you don't have an open hole then the children go back to their place and show.

This game could go on with the teacher calling out a description of the required shape instead of showing it. “Find a three sided shape.” “Find a half circle” “Find an S shape”
