The idea of this game is to have half the group lying on the floor face up under the parachute with their feet nearest to the centre like spokes of a wheel - they are the dirty washing.

The other half of the group gently waft the parachute over those lying on the ground.

These children control the washing machine and make the parachute go through all the washing cycle from slow washing, spinning etc.

The children kneeling around the edge start the washing machine and make the appropriate noises, add the powder / liquid etc.

They control the parachute through the wash cycle. The wash part could be shown by the children moving the parachute up and down vigorously. The spin and rotate part could be by passing the parachute around clockwise or anti-clockwise through each person's hands. They can then waft dry the washing.

If the washing isn't clean then they can do the wash cycle again.

After a period of time the washers can have a go at lying down and swap places and become the dirty washing.
