Children are able to develop their Composing Skills through a variety of fun, interactive activities which help them to learn about basic notes and create their own music.
They are also able to enhance their Performing Skills with games and activities aimed at encouraging them to sing along, learn about beats and rhythms and understand different musical sounds.
Within this KS1 Music area children are able to develop Appraising Skills by listening to different styles of music and learning about the different emotions portrayed through music.
The General Music section helps children to understand how music differs between times and cultures, with examples including Indian music, Welsh music and Bali music. It also includes fun activities aimed at helping Key Stage 1 Music pupils to identify different musical instruments through sight and sound.
Children are able to enhance their skills at Listening and Applying Knowledge and Understanding to music through interactive music activities. The activities encourage children studying Key Stage 1 Music to explore sound, listen to various instruments, sequence music and create their own music.
