The teacher will need to collect about 20 items for this game and then place them under the parachute without anyone else seeing what they are.

The children will then stand around the edge of the parachute holding on to the edge with both hands making sure that the parachute is lying on the floor.

The teacher will tell the children to lift the parachute and make it mushroom for about 10 seconds. The idea is then for all the children to look at all the items and try to remember them.

The parachute will then come down to the floor again and cover the items.

The children remain standing around the edge and the teacher will take away one of the items and hide it, the children could be asked to turn their heads away or close their eyes while this is being done.

The teacher will then get the class to mushroom the parachute again for about 5 seconds and then let the parachute drop again. The children are then asked which item is missing from the pile.

To make it even more difficult the teacher or chosen child could take away two or three items at a time.
