With this game the children can use their names or to make it more interesting use numbers or colours etc. If numbers are used then everyone is given a number or if colours are used then each child could wear a different coloured PE bib.

Everyone starts lifting the parachute up and down and when it is at its highest point someone calls out two names or two numbers and these two children have to change places by running under the parachute.

They have to be quick before the parachute comes back down!!

More names / numbers / colours can be called out as the children get used to the idea.

Another idea is to give the children a fruit name. Having five fruits and dividing them between the children. You then call out all the apples to cross for example. When you call 'Fruit Bowl' everyone crosses over before the parachute collapses.

Obviously children need to be reminded about safety when crossing from one side to the other making sure that they don't collide with each other.
