Ring a Ring a Roses

Played when there is a mixed age group to include the little ones. This nursery rhyme lends itself well to the parachute, but to make it a little more interesting for the older players introduce a few Cross-overs the second time around.

Ring a ring a roses, a pocket full of posies. Atishoo! Atishoo! We all fall down.

(Walk around in a clockwise direction singing the song and drop to a crouch.)

Ashes in the water, ashes in the sea, we all jump up with a 1, 2, 3.

(Stay at ground level rocking the parachute and jump up at 3.)

Ring a ring a roses, a pocket full of posies, Atishoo! Atishoo! We all fall down.

(Repeat the actions of the first verse.)

Ashes in the water, ashes in the sea, everyone wearing blue, crosses over on a 1, 2, 3.

(Rock the parachute at ground level, raise it in the air and all the players wearing blue, cross over underneath the parachute to the opposite side.)

(Repeat the game as many times as you like, changing the cross-over questions.)
