Parachute Activities The Visit
This game is a way of finding out what your group knows about the world around them. All players hold on the parachute and it becomes their form of transport. Whether a car, a bus, a tram, a train or all four. The leader announces, “Today we are visiting the library.” Everyone decides how they are going to get there and the parachute travels to the library. On arriving everyone sits on the parachute and the leader says, “What do we find in a library?” It is a chance for those who have been to share their knowledge and for those who have not to learn it is not just books but music and computers and much more. The next visit could be to the supermarket, the swimming pool, the leisure centre, the rare breeds farm park, anywhere to familiarise the group with their surroundings. The knowledge shared should not be just what is good about a place, but also what could be dangerous e.g. running along the poolside, and why in some places there are rules to follow.
