Teacher Notes

This is a call and response game. The leader calls and players respond.

The players are divided into teams A and B and are mixed around the parachute

Each team chooses a lead car and that person’s surname becomes the team name.

For example Team A becomes The Jackson team. For each game the lead car is changed so the team name changes too.

This is not a race. Team A begins and the lead car starts first and the team follow.

Team B operates the parachute

The leader calls out instructions like these:-

Chequered Flag (shaken the parachute)

Green Light (mushroom the parachute three times and the cars take off round the outside of the parachute)

Warm Tyres(jump from side to side)

Taking Corners (weave in and out of the players holding the parachute)

Flat Tyres (hop)

Running Out of Petrol (slow motion)

Pit Stop (all cars go under the parachute and sit down)

Reverse(all cars back up)

Red Light (mushroom the parachute three times and all cars find a place on the edge)
