Parachute Activities Catch You Out
The children sit in the circle around the outer edge of the parachute. One child sits in the centre with a ball ready to throw. The child in the centre needs to think of a category like animals, birds, trees, food etc. The ball is then thrown by the child in the middle randomly to a child on the edge of the circle. The child who catches the ball has ten seconds to think of something in that category. If they manage to name something correctly in that category they throw the ball back and the child in the centre throws the ball again randomly. If the child on the edge of the circle gets the answer wrong then they change places with the child in the middle. The same category can continue or a new one thought up. The children around the edge are not allowed to repeat answers. The teacher could change the rules slightly and have the child in the centre call out colours and the children around the edge have to think of something that is that particular colour e.g. white - snow.
