Parachute Activities Tent Pole
The children sit in a circle in the parachute tent (see parachute tent activity). A child volunteers to be the tent pole and stands in the centre beneath the parachute hole. He / she must hold on to the centre hole and stand with their feet together and their knees slightly bent. The job of the other children siting around the edge of the parachute tent is to rock the parachute tent back and forth until the tent pole falls over. The children need to co-operate by leaning backwards and forwards together. Once the tent pole has fallen over, another child can volunteer to be the tent pole.
