Parachute Activities Ball Shoot
The children stand around the edge of the parachute and hold on to the edge with both hands at waist height. They are not allowed to let go at anytime. The teacher then numbers the group alternatively 1, 2, 1, 2, 1 etc. around the circle.
The idea of the game is to place a ball on the parachute and it is the job of team '1' to try and shake the ball off the parachute. Team '2' must try and keep the ball on the parachute. Every time the ball touches the ground team '1' scores a goal. The teams can then swap roles or each team could have a set time e.g. 5 minutes before swapping. To make the activity easier you could have a third team and their job is to retrieve the ball when it goes off. The teacher can change the rules by letting the team keeping the ball on the parachute use one hand only holding the edge of the parachute or vice versa.
This game requires the children to work as a team and co-operate with each other. This activity is great fun but children must try to be as gentle as possible with each other as they try to work the parachute.
