Pronouns 1

We can use pronouns in place of proper nouns (places and people’s names) and common nouns (things).

We replace boy’s names (proper nouns) with he and girl’s names (proper nouns) with she. If we want to write about more than one person or thing we use they. Things (common nouns) are replaced with it.

Can you rewrite these sentences using the correct pronouns instead of nouns?

1) James went to the park.

2) The computer is brand new.

3) Sarah played on the slide.

4) Auntie May and Uncle Brian are going on holiday.

5) Mrs. Brown looks pretty today.

6) The table is made of wood.

7) Mum, Dad, Bill and Abigail are playing a game.

8) Peter is 10 years old.
