Ball Rocket Target

Ball Rocket Target
The children stand around the edge of the parachute and hold on to the edge with two hands. The idea of the game is to launch a large ball as high as possible into the air and hit a target. The target could be another parchute being held by another group of children or PE hoops on the floor etc. The ball will need to be launched at an angle so that it reaches the target. The children with the landing site parachute may need to move around to catch the flying ball. The best way to get the ball launched is to place the large ball in the centre of the parachute while it is lying on the floor and then 'Mushroom' the parachute as quickly as possible. The children need to work and co-operate together to be able to flick the ball into the air. If indoors the ball could hit the ceiling and could cause damage to the light fittings. To get children to work as a team and investigate the teacher could give them very few instructions and get them to work out how best to launch the ball. |
