For this game the parachute is laid on the floor flat and children sit around the edge.

Some children become flies and walk over the parachute bent over double holding their ankles, making buzzing noises.

One child becomes the spider and stands in the centre of the parachute with their eyes closed. Their job is to try and catch the flies by walking around slowly. The spider must walk on their hands and feet with their backs facing the parachute (crab crawl).

When a fly is caught he / she must lie on their backs with their legs in the air and 'die' dramatically.

The dead flies can then return to the parachute or become spiders.

To extend the game you can have more spiders or allow the spiders to open their eyes or allow the spiders to turn over and crawl instead which would be much quicker.
